I’d imagine the whole world was one big machine. Machines never come with any extra parts, you know. They always come with the exact amount they need. So I figured, if the entire world was one big machine, I couldn’t be an extra part. I had to be here for some reason. And that means you have to be here for some reason, too.
I have passed the qualification round and entered the first round. Scored 50 marks and stand at 5615th position. Not bad for someone who learned programming very recently. Learning python really paid well. Its was a breeze to program in python, really enjoyable. And attempting this competition took my programming skill one step ahead, i believe so. Even though its nice to code in python, when it come to handling large amount of data it will show its inherent weakness. Its slow. In one of the problem it took around 7 minutes to give the result while my friend who did it in C++ got in 10 secs. That’s a huge difference. Maybe there are better pythonic way to approach that specific problem than I did, but still….
The next round will start in about two weeks. Until then I will try to practice more and score big at the competition. :)
I am making some good progress in learning python. Its a wonderful language to learn and to experiment with. I am loving its scripting feature. Combined with readability its one language every programmer should learn. Having completed my college study (still no degree though.. ) I am going to have some plenty of free time. And I know I should spent it wisely. I have to make some plans about it. And tomorrow I am attending Google Code Jam competition. Hopes to crack at least the qualifying round with my already earned python knowledge.
